Merino fibres have a scale structure. Heat + agitation = scales lock together = felting = a jumper that now fits your cat.
## Re-blocking
If you pulled a merino out of shape on the washing line, lay it flat on a towel, pat it back to the right dimensions, leave overnight. It comes back.
